As the low carbon transition accelerates, an understanding of where carbon risks lie − which parts of portfolios are transitioning, and which ones are behind the trend − will help meet asset owners’ and investment managers’ net zero commitments. Corporate GHG emissions reduction targets form the basis of this analysis. This paper proposes a TCFD-aligned framework for standardising and improving the quality of corporate GHG emissions reduction targets, and recommends further alignment and wider publication of targets.
