Real estate is a popular asset class that can be easily accessed through investing in the exchange-listed stocks of real estate companies globally. In this report we use the FTSE EPRA Nareit Global Real Estate Index Series to gauge the extent to which the characteristics that tend to attract investors to listed real estate—yield enhancement, diversification, and inflation hedge—are observed. We dissect the global index by region, country, and real estate-specific sector to analyze the behavior of listed real estate across geographies and market segments.
