The FTSE Ping An China ESG Index Series is a China equity index family designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices utilising the Ping An CN-ESG ratings.
The FTSE Ping An China ESG Index Series consists of:
FTSE Ping An China A Free ESG Advanced 50 Index
This index selects the top five companies ranked by ESG Rating from 10 industries of NICB (financial and real estate are considered as one industry) and weights the constituents by market capitalisation.
FTSE Ping An China A Free ESG Advanced 100 Index
This index selects the top ten companies ranked by ESG Rating from 10 industries of NICB (financial and real estate are considered as one industry) and weights the constituents by market capitalisation.
The ESG index versions are based on the FTSE China A Free Indices, designed to measure the performance of large and mid-cap of China A Shares, listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchange’s including the ChiNext Board. The FTSE China A Free Indices do not apply foreign ownership limits, and therefore accurately reflect the Chinese market for domestic investors.
The indices can be used as performance benchmarks, or as the basis for index-linked products including index tracking funds, derivatives and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).
